Captain Carson Kemp

I grew up in Georgia with a fishing rod in my hand and a deep appreciation for the outdoors. From freshwater to salt, chasing fish has always been more than a hobby for me — it’s a way of life. I’m a big advocate for protecting our fisheries and environment, and I believe taking care of the water is just as important as enjoying it.

I attended Carson-Newman College, where I played baseball and earned a degree in Business. That competitive background, combined with my love for fishing, naturally led me toward guiding full time. I hold a U.S. Coast Guard Captain’s License and take pride in running safe, professional, and well-organized trips.

Before settling into inshore guiding, I spent two seasons professionally guiding in Alaska, targeting salmon and rainbow trout on the fly. Those experiences sharpened my skills, patience, and ability to adapt to changing conditions — lessons I bring to every trip today.

I began guiding full-time in Cape San Blas and St. Joe Bay in 2023, but I’ve been fishing these waters for years. With over 300 charters run, I’ve had the chance to fish with anglers of all skill levels and tailor each trip to match what they’re looking for — whether that’s learning the basics, sight-fishing the flats, or chasing a personal best.

My goal on every trip is simple: have fun, fish hard, and make sure you leave with a great experience and a few good stories. If you’re looking for a relaxed but professional day on the water with someone who truly loves what he does, I’d love to have you aboard.
